Description
The Agilent 10529A Logic Comparator provides time-saving troubleshooting by locating bad nodes in-circuit. No unsoldering is required. When TTL or DTL functional logic fails, the comparator can quickly and simply find the faulty node or integrated circuit (IC) fault.

The comparator can be used by itself or with other IC troubleshooters. For example, once several bad nodes have been identified with the comparator, the other IC troubleshooters can be used to locate and specifically identify the exact fault.

Features:
  • Quickly checks dozens of ICs
  • Simple and direct operation with stretching and displays of dynamic errors
  • Useable in digital feedback loops
  • Switch-programmable socket board included
  • Self-powered and self-contained

  • Quickly checks The HP 10529A operates on the principle that a known-good IC can act as a standard against which to measure the in-circuit performance of suspected-faulty ICs. Simple operation Each input pin of the reference IC is connected in parallel with the IC in the circuit under test, using a small circuit board (10 blanks are provided). Output pins of the reference IC are connected to an exclusive-OR for comparison with the output pin of the IC under test. Any difference in operation is stretched and displayed as an error. Useable in digital feedback loops Inputs do not have to be correct to verify the operation of an IC. Because of comparison testing, the comparator can be used in circuits where troubleshooting is otherwise extremely difficult. Also, stuck nodes will provide incorrect responses that are individually displayed as faulty pins. Switch programmable socket board The included socket board accepts 8-, 14-, or 16pin ICs. Place a reference IC into the socket, program the 16 switches, and begin testing. The socket board senses which of the input pins are supply and ground, and displays output errors greater than 300 ns.
